Who is he?
Anthony Mendoza was born in Fresno, California and went to college locally at Fresno Pacific University where he played middle infield for the Sunbirds from 2012-14. After he college playing career ended, he started working in student ministry before graduating with a bachelors degree in social work. He, then enrolled in the Ohio University Master of Sport Science program before graduating again in May of 2018. During this time, Mendoza worked as an Assistant Coach for John Carroll University and as an assistant Director of Baseball Operations at Force Sports in Cleveland, Ohio. Since then, he has also picked up a part-time role with the Chicago Cubs organization as an outside development specialist.
What does he do?
On a day-to-day basis at Force Sports, Anthony analyzes player data and creates player development programming for the individual players, manage day to day operations within the logistics of the program and creates coaching development opportunities for the coaches at Force Sports. While with the Chicago Cubs, Anthony is active in video analysis, finding trends in data to maximize potential and creating presentation to display his findings for the organization's use.
What is his ultimate goal?
Anthony wants to become the field manager for a major league team. He has driven himself to be in the best position possible for when an opportunity might present itself. He looks for new approaches to the game of baseball and is interested in finding the most optimal way to play the game. His passion for baseball and his passion to help people have taken his knowledge to greater extremes and he looks to display that knowledge with all that he encounters.
